Did you know that even ships have a language?

On Wednesday 5th November, from 9:30am till 11:00am, Heritage Malta is inviting children aged 7 years and older to learn about the messages communicated through naval flags, during a colourful and fun workshop at Fort St Angelo, in Birgu.

Young participants will explore how the different types of nautical flags, with various shapes, colours and patterns, are used to convey messages at sea. They will also get a close-up look at the Fort’s very own historic ship mast, where the Royal Navy once hoisted these flags.

Wrapping up the activity, participants will get their creative juices flowing by designing their very own nautical flag, giving a particular signal!

Tickets include admission for one accompanying adult, and they can be purchased online here or at any Heritage Malta museum or site.
